Our aesthetic gymnastics team won a golden medal at the World Championships in the Bulgarian capital Varna.
Our team received the highest grades for both of its performances – 33.05, and left the world leaders in this sport Estonia and Finland behind. The Bulgarian team consisted of eight girls between 18 and 32 years of age, all representing Gracia club for gymnastics.
Maya Maximova was selected as Miss Games by the journalists there. “I’m 32 years old and I’m the oldest of all 24 participants in the competition. I have given 20 years of my life to this sport, five of which spent in Lilly Ignatova’s show. I’m glad that we won, as well as that I received the title of Miss Games,” Maximova said.
The names of the eight champion girls who won the gold medal are: Valya Dobreva, Viktoria Spasova, Gabriela Zhivkova, Gabriela Mihova, Zhaneta Yaneva, Maya Maximova, Meglena Gencheva and Tsvetelina Tsvetkova.
