PARLIAMENTARY NEWS

Boyko BorisovFormer ruling party GERB left again the parliamentary hearings today. On Thursday, former PM and GERB leader Boiko Borisov warned that the party would boycott parliament, and was insisting once again that the May 12th elections should be nullified.

Mihail MikovParliament’s speaker Mihail Mikov qualified GERB MPs’ behaviour as ‘childish’ in a moment when the parliament is voting structural reform in the security sector, merging DANS and GDBOP security agencies.

Tsvetan TsvetanovFormer interior minister and GERB second in rank Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov, stamped voted amendments as harmful and dangerous for Bulgaria's national security.

Boyko BorisovGERB party leader Boiko Borisov added that his party MPs would petition President Rossen Plevneliev to convene a meeting of the Consultative Council on National Security on the amendments. Mr. Borisov said that he hoped to see Plevneliev putting a veto on the legislative act.

Boyko BorisovMeanwhile, parliamentary opposition leader Borisov, also said that he would be consulted by a lawyer, and intends taking court action against Siderov for slander in relation with broadly discussed unrecorded flights of governmental airplanes and military ministry aircrafts during GERB’s term in power (2009-2013).
